Benefits of group training

Starting with a new fitness group can be nerve-wracking. After all, you are putting yourself out there in what can be unfamiliar turf, and your mind can throw in some pretty powerful tricks to make starting something new all the more difficult. But once you’ve made the call to turn up, the benefits can be life-changing. See this pic of Dave and Mel? He’s pacing her to a half marathon PB on the weekend. They didn’t know each other and were new to running groups 7 years ago.

Personal bests like Mel’s are a by-product of training in a positive environment, which offers so many more benefits!

1. Support from your coach and your run buddies to keep you accountable and pushing through tough times.

2. Motivation is easier when you’re surrounded by inspiring like-minded peeps.

3. Structure - you don’t need to plan or think. Let the coaches do that.

4. Safe - proper execution of skills in a comfortable environment

5. Variety - different people, conversations, and sessions keep you motivated, fire your metabolism and recruit different muscle groups and energy systems

6. Accountability- your teammates want you there, you’ll give 100% effort, the coach is watching!

7. Network - you’ve just grown your social and professional contacts.

8. It’s fun. Simple as that.

So whatever your running fitness goals are, a team around you can only help. So try a couple of sessions on us! DM us for the info! #running #baysidemelbourne #runfit #teamrun
